Attending To What's Unfolding

I pray your meandering path
through today will be as
enchantingly ordinary
as the smoothest kind of dirt
looking up at calm sky
reflected on tall windows
prophesying with light about
how the work of amazement
is never really over and that
this exact human life you’re
living is holy, holy, holy,
even when you’re tired,
even when it’s awkward,
even when joy is absent for a while.
It still comes down to this:
the boring soil makes the
garden that feeds the world
with the favor of attainable things.
