(questions for further investigation)

Why is blue the shroud of

mourning and tribulation

in certain parts of the world?

Why blue hands prints

on some doors in Jerusalem?

Why blue mercury on walls in

the Temple of Nebuchadnezzar?

Why blue spots placed behind

ears of grooms in North Africa?

Why blue strings tied around

necks of beloved animals in Syria?

Why blue twilight, blue virgin,

blue royal, blue ocean?

What caused so many of our

ancestors bow before it?

When did it become a sign

of mercy without limits?

How does it frighten haints

away from front porches?

Who declared it as rare as

“once in a blue moon”

but as loyal and true

as steadfast dyes used

by blue collar workers?

If blue is for ghosts and angels,

why do I see it shining everywhere

like jostled water inside a glass bowl?

A planet smiling with life could

make a habit out of such a color.
