How To Offer A Blessing

Listen

to the gratitude 

and goodwill inside

you, then release it,

turn it loose, stick your

hands back in your pockets 

so it knows you’re not waiting 

for it to look back and alchemize

into a transaction or some kind of

exchange. Walk away from any

expectation that it might return 

to you because if it does, it will

become something different. 

And if someone offers you

a blessing, do the same. 

Welcome it. Receive

its radiance. Resist

the urge to repay.
