the veil barely holds together
because you stayed,
because you called,
because you chose to be
where love belongs.
Aware or unaware,
a thin space opens
in God’s own air
when you become
someone else’s someone,
sacred hands extending
across the distance
to walk each other home
with long-setting grace.
