The World That Is Isn't

the world that was,

or will be. It is

a frail and ripened friend

asking to share bread with you,

tears and laughter,

bitter herbs and honey,

on the table of this day

in which there will never

be enough time

to ask all your questions

or gather their answers

about what was

or will be.

There’s only enough daylight left

to finish what is.
